several things that randomly come to mind, especially during classes…

this world is a world of scarcity.everything is lacking.if man lacks much, then how can he come up with a plan to save himself to measure up exactly to the Perfect One and gain the latter’s approval? (economics)

people do what they do because there is nothing better to do.what people choose to do is what gives them most satisfaction. this is the idea of opportunity cost (economics). for example,i’d rather invest my time, effort, money and guts joining the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship chapter in the university i go to.the leadership job assigned to me is no joke:members decreasing in number by the meeting,no pat in the back after a lot of hard work, people not turning up when you need them the most, irregular back-breaking mind-boggling schedules, and most of the time, zero visibility of the fruit of your efforts…then why should i stick to it when it seems so unworthwhile? because Jesus loves me enough to save me and I can never repay it enough to stop working for Him,and there isn’t any other thing better to do than invest in what is eternal.

a government accountant working in the States was a speaker in one of the centennial lectures i was required to attend.she says accountants are one of the top five high-paying jobs in the States.why do accountants earn so much in the States? of course, the law of supply, which states that if supply is low, price increases and vice versa. accountants are scarce in the States, that’s why some accounting firms offer high pay to them (yes!)

because this is the law which operates in the economy, even the ever-populous nursing student population has something to pick out of the idea: when there is an abundant supply of nurses, what will happen is that most employers might lower the pay because they wouldn’t have to try so hard to attract the best among all other candidates for the nursing job…(economics)

get my points?these are just some intellectual exercises i do to strengthen my analytical skills.
